Mathys Tel’s Premier League statistics reveal that the Tottenham winger excels in one key area, though concerns remain in other aspects of his game.
Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in front of goal this season, with the Lilywhites yet to score a single goal.
Last time out, those struggles were laid bare as Spurs failed to manage a single shot on target in their clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground despite taking 11 shots in the match.

And while he has created a few chances, Tel has yet to create any big chances in all three games he has played for Tottenham in the English top flight.

Tel’s dribbling shines despite decision-making concerns
But it is not all bad from the forward, as Tel currently tops the charts for dribbles completed in the entire Premier League. That is according to WhoScored, who have revealed that the winger’s ten dribbles completed is a league high.
There is no denying Tel’s quality in one-v-one situations, but the frustration comes when he fails to make the right decision after taking on his man.
De Zerbi said about Tel’s decision-making: “We have Mathys Tel, big potential. But also Mathys takes too many wrong decisions, and Mudryk. So, two big players, two big potential players.”
This season, there is competition for places in attack, meaning Tel will have to step up his game if he is to keep a spot in the starting XI.
