A France U21 international is on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar as his club future remains up in the air ahead of the January window.
Spurs made significant changes to their forward line this summer, with Omar Marmoush, Savio and Mykhailo Mudryk arriving through the door, while Richarlison has been left out of the Premier League squad ahead of an impending exit.
There is still a question mark on whether the current Tottenham forward line has enough goals in it, with some pundits suggesting that Omar Marmoush is far from an ideal number nine.
It has now emerged that the Lilywhites explored a move for a teenage centre-forward, who is plying his trade in the Saudi Pro League.
Tottenham one of many Premier League sides interested in Mohamed Kader Meite
According to TEAMtalk, 18-year-old French striker Mohamed Kader Meite is on Tottenham’s radar as well as on the wishlist of many of their rivals.
The teenager, who stands at 6ft 4in, left Rennes in January to sign for Al Hilal, but clubs showed interest in bringing him to Europe just a few months later.
The report says that Spurs, as well as Aston Villa and Manchester City, were made aware during the summer window that Meite would be available.
Additionally, it is revealed that Arsenal and Manchester United made enquiries about the France U21 international before the deadline, and their interest in the youngster has not faded.
Meite open to returning to Europe
TEAMtalk reveal that the centre-forward himself was considering returning to Europe in the summer, with intermediaries exploring the possibility of an early exit from Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal remain convinced of Meite’s potential, and despite the ‘strong’ interest, the Saudi club did not entertain the possibility of selling the Frenchman in the summer.
However, the report adds that the former Rennes man’s long-term future remains something that would have to be assessed ahead of the January window.
