Newcastle United appear confident that they have won the race to sign highly-rated Spanish prospect Antonio Cordero, a player Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with.

Tottenham’s search for attacking reinforcements
During the winter transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur were actively looking to bring in additional attacking options.
Their search saw them linked with several forwards, including Kolo Muani, who eventually joined Juventus, and Mathys Tel, who became a Tottenham player after a direct conversation with manager Ange Postecoglou.
With Richarlison’s fitness issues raising questions, there is a growing belief that Spurs remain keen on securing another versatile attacker to provide cover up top.

Newcastle United expected to beat Spurs to Antonio Cordero
According to TBR Football, it appears that Newcastle United are set to beat the Lilywhites to the signing of Spanish teenager and versatile forward, Antonio Cordero.
In addition to Spurs, clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid have all shown interest.
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has now stated that a move to the Premier League is very likely and the Magpies are leading the race.
The outlet has also revealed that talks have progressed quickly in recent weeks and they understand that terms have been agreed between the player and Newcastle United.
Nevertheless, Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham are said to have also been in contact with Cordero’s representatives.

Spurs must focus on experience over potential
Antonio Cordero’s performances this season have certainly been eye-catching. Despite Malaga’s struggles, the teenager has recorded 25 appearances across all competitions, registering four goals and six assists—impressive numbers for a young player developing in a tough environment.
However, while Cordero has shown glimpses of his potential, he remains a work in progress rather than a player ready to make an immediate impact at the highest level.
Tottenham Hotspur already possess an array of talented prospects, including Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert, and young forward Yang.
The priority for Spurs should be securing players who can elevate the team to the next level rather than adding another developing talent.
