Tottenham Hotspur are making progress in their efforts to prise Cody Gakpo away from Liverpool in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
It has been widely reported over the last few days that Tottenham are now in concrete talks with Liverpool over Gakpo, whose future at Anfield appears uncertain as the Reds eye further additions to their attack.
In fact, according to reports from Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink, the Netherlands international has expressed a willingness to join Spurs.
Elfrink explained that Gakpo gave the green light to the move after holding talks with Roberto De Zerbi regarding the ongoing project at N17.

Update on Tottenham’s Cody Gakpo pursuit as Bradley Barcola nears Liverpool switch
It is an open secret that Liverpool are pursuing PSG’s Bradley Barcola, with Spurs believing the Frenchman’s arrival could open up an opportunity for them to land Gakpo.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham are not going to have any issues agreeing personal terms with the 27-year-old, while the Reds are also not going to struggle to agree a contract with Barcola.
The journalist explained that the two deals now depend solely on the clubs reaching an agreement on the transfer fees for both players.
Romano wrote on X: “No issues on personal terms for both Barcola-Liverpool and Gakpo-Tottenham deals. Both depend on financial agreements between the clubs involved. LFC are working to get Barcola and THFC are working to get Gakpo.”
Spurs have already launched an offer for Gakpo
Romano is not the only one to make this confident claim about the ease of agreeing personal terms with the Liverpool man.
In fact, Soccer News reported on Saturday that Tottenham and Gakpo have already reached an agreement in principle on a contract, ahead of the player’s potential move to N17.
The outlet also claimed that Spurs have launched an opening offer of around £60m for the former PSV Eindhoven man, which Liverpool are now considering.
