Tottenham fans have gone into panic mode after Pedro Porro’s latest post sparked fears that the full‑back could be sidelined for longer than expected.
Tottenham Hotspur’s injury list has grown to five after Pedro Porro suffered a knock that forced him off the pitch in Spurs’ clash against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The full-back, who had already missed the midweek Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool due to injury, lasted only 19 minutes against Villa before being substituted for youngster Archie Gray.
Following the match against Villa, Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi admitted that Porro may have a hamstring issue, though no timeline has yet been given for his return.

Tottenham fans fear the worst after latest Pedro Porro injury blow
Fortunately for Tottenham, the three-week international break should eat into the time Porro spends on the sidelines. The full‑back had been called up to represent Spain before his injury but has since withdrawn as a result.
Porro also took to social media to provide fans with an update, posting an ominous message following his setback at the weekend.
He wrote: “Sometimes you have to stop, take a breath and start again. Now it’s time to recover and trust the process. I’ll come back stronger, hungrier and more motivated than ever. This is just another obstacle on the road. See you soon.”
Porro’s words have now sparked concern among Tottenham supporters, with many fearing the worst given the tone of his post.
Tottenham fans reacted online with comments such as:
- “He’s talking like a man returning from a knee operation and a spiritual retreat at the same time.”
- “Jesus Christ 🤣 that is not what someone writes who’s only out for a week or two.”
- “Please don’t be ACL.”
- “Doesn’t sound good.”
- “Tottenham need him. I like Gray but he is awful at RB.”
- “That’s him playing 30 minutes a match until the end of the season.”
- “How do we not have a single right-back in the youth system that can step up and actually contribute to the first team?”
- “Soon bet we won’t see him till late November.”
- “So he’s out for three months I bet.”
- “This means it’s serious.”
- “Brilliant. So no RB then.”
- “20th and Gray RB starter? Send us down already.”
Spurs options to cover Pedro Porro’s absence
It was a non-contact injury, and in football that is often not a good sign. De Zerbi has hinted at a hamstring issue, but even his words have done little to ease fears among supporters.
Of course, many fans will remember the infamous “it’s nothing too serious” update Ange Postecoglou gave on Dejan Kulusevski back in 2025, only for the Swede to go more than 500 days without kicking a ball.
Hopefully, that will not be the case for Porro. Spurs will now have to turn to youngster Archie Gray to fill in at right-back, having opted not to replace Djed Spence this summer.
New signing Tosin Adarabioyo could also be deployed at right-back, while De Zerbi may experiment with a back three to cover for Porro’s absence.
