Tottenham are set to face Getafe in their fifth pre‑season match of the summer, and it’s time for our predicted Spurs XI.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on Getafe in their first pre-season outing since returning from their tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Spurs rounded off their tour with an impressive victory over fellow London side Chelsea, beating Xabi Alonso’s men 2-1 despite going a man down.
Attention now turns to familiar surroundings as Tottenham take on Getafe at Hotspur Way.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has big decisions to make as he looks to manage the minutes and fitness of his players, with the Premier League now just two weeks away.
Here is our predicted Tottenham XI to take on Getafe…

Tottenham predicted XI vs Getafe as Roberto De Zerbi weighs key calls
Goalkeeper – Antonin Kinsky: The Czech international put in a really solid display last time out, making three stunning saves to keep Tottenham in the game. He is growing into the number one role, and we expect De Zerbi to stick with him against Getafe.
Right-back – Archie Gray: Pedro Porro remains absent from training, and that should leave Gray as the starting right-back.
Centre-back – Jan Paul van Hecke: The Dutchman got a solid 45 minutes under his belt against Chelsea, where he looked aggressive in his approach. With the season not too far away, we expect De Zerbi to continue handing him more minutes.
Centre-back – Kevin Danso: His game against Chelsea was cut short after he picked up a red card just four minutes after his second-half introduction. With his first pre-season game brought to an abrupt end, Danso looks set to start against Getafe.
Left-back – Andy Robertson: The full-back will be hoping for a much better performance against Getafe following his struggles against Chelsea last time out.
Defensive midfielder – Sandro Tonali: The Italian found the net against Chelsea with a well-taken strike from outside the box. We expect De Zerbi to keep Tonali in the side.
Centre-midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: Mateus Fernandes is back fit and could easily be part of Tottenham’s midfield. However, De Zerbi might not want to throw the Portuguese straight into the mix and, as such, Bergvall should start.
Centre-midfielder – Conor Gallagher: James Maddison continues to nurse a recurring hip injury, as revealed earlier this week. With the 29-year-old unable to be involved, Gallagher should slot into the number 10 role.
Left-winger – Manor Solomon: Tottenham’s attempts to offload Solomon this summer have yet to yield any results. West Ham looked close to signing him, but they failed to meet Spurs’ valuation of the Israel international. Solomon has filled in on the right for most of pre-season and, with a move not agreed, he should start against Getafe.
Striker – Dominic Solanke: The forward made his first appearance of pre-season last time out against Chelsea. He was fairly underwhelming and not heavily involved in play. That could be down to rust, making it even more vital that he starts on Saturday.
Right-winger – Mathys Tel: He has been one of Spurs’ bright sparks throughout pre-season, bringing plenty of variety to his game with his quality on and off the ball. With injuries still limiting Spurs’ wing options, Tel should start.
