Tottenham target Sandro Tonali has no shortage of offers to choose from this summer, and he has now informed Newcastle which club he wants to join.

While Tottenham have an agreement in place with the Newcastle man, they are facing competition from one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League for his services.

It was reported by The Telegraph on Friday that Man City have been in regular contact with Tonali and have asked to be kept informed of his situation.

In fact, the report explained that Newcastle expect the Manchester club to step up their interest in the 26-year-old over the next few days.

Sandro Tonali wants to honour his word to Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham

Gianluca Di Marzio has now revealed on his podcast, Caffe Di Marzio (as relayed by Tutto Atalanta) that the Italy internaitonal is not short of interest.

He asserts that Tonali has been inundated with many lucrative offers this summer, including one from Man City.

However, Di Marzio claims that the midfielder is ‘determined to honour his word’ to Roberto De Zerbi, having told the 46-year-old that he would join Tottenham Hotspur.

The journalist adds that the former AC Milan man is now ‘doing everything he can’ to persuade Newcastle to accept Spurs’ offer.

Newcastle have already sent a Tonali transfer hint

As De Zerbi’s men step up their pursuit of Tonali, Newcastle have sent a major hint that they expect the player to exit St James’ Park.

Over the last 24 hours, reports have indicated that the Magpies have expressed an interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, who has a £73.5m release clause in his contract.

Nmecha’s profile suggests he is a replacement for Tonali, and the cost of the operation may hint that Eddie Howe’s men expect a cash influx in the coming days or weeks.
