How much Sandro Tonali could earn at Tottenham after he says ‘yes’ to transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have taken a huge step towards signing Sandro Tonali, but they still have work to do to get the deal over the line.

Reliable journalists such as Fabrizio Romano have revealed over recent days that Tottenham are continuing to work on a deal for Sandro Tonali, even though the club’s other transfer pursuits are now dominating the headlines.

Spurs have had a £80m bid for Tonali turned down by Newcastle, which would have already been a club-record deal for the Lilywhites had the offer been accepted. In fact, Tonali has already said ‘yes’ to the potential Spurs move.

However, despite the huge figures involved, it appears that Roberto De Zerbi’s men are pushing ahead undeterred.

Sandro Tonali is ready to sign a bumper Tottenham contract

Sky Sports’ live blog has backed up what other sources are reporting on Tonali, by stating that the midfielder is now ‘ready’ to sign for Spurs.

In fact, it is revealed that a contract worth more than £275,000 per week is ready and waiting for the Italy international to sign.

That would make Tonali comfortably the highest paid player in the Spurs squad, beating out the £195,00 per week that Cristian Romero and Xavi Simons are currently on.

Sky Sports add that the deal is now dependent on the two clubs reaching an agreement, with the Lilywhites and the Magpies continuing talks following the rejected £80m offer.

Arsenal are not likely to hijack Spurs’ deal for Tonali

Over the last week, some outlets have said that Arsenal would be the Newcastle star’s prefered destination if they made a move this summer.

However, David Ornstein and other reliable journalists have said over the last few days that the Gunners have not shown an interest in Tonali this summer.

Over the last 24 hours, Arsenal have pushed ahead with an offer for Bruno

Guimaraes, and it thus appears that the Lilywhites are facing no serious competition in the race for Tonali.
