Tottenham Hotspur are expected to have another poor season, according to a supercomputer, despite spending huge amounts to improve their squad this summer.
The Lilywhites made an extremely poor start to the campaign, with the 3-0 loss serving as a reality check to Spurs fans, who were on cloud nine after a strong summer window.
Tottenham have spent another £145m to improve their squad since the loss to Brentford, with Man City pair Savinho and Omar Marmoush arriving at N17.
However, despite making these significant improvements to their squad, a data analysis platform expects Roberto De Zerbi’s men to struggle again.

Opta’s Supercomputer has predicted what the final league table for the 2026-27 season will look like following the first round of fixtures, and it does not make for pretty reading for the Lilywhites.
The website backs Tottenham to finish in 11th place, with an expected 50 points this season.
While that will be an improvement points-wise and in terms of league position compared to the last two seasons, it would be nowhere near acceptable for a club of Spurs’ size.
Given the investment that has gone into the squad, many expect the club to be challenging for the top six, but Opta feel that is extremely unlikely.

Spurs given a bigger chance of relegation than Champions League qualification
Even more worryingly, Opta have handed Tottenham just an 11.67 per cent chance of finishing in the top five and qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
The data analysis platform gives Tottenham a 14.38 per cent chance of being relegated from the Premier League after escaping relegation on the final day of last season.
In other words, Opta’s numbers suggest De Zerbi’s men are more likely to go down to the Championship next season than be back in the Champions League.
