Amid reports suggesting that Savinho is edging closer to a move to Tottenham Hotspur, a journalist from The Guardian has now made a surprising claim about the state of the deal.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham are advancing in talks with Man City over a £60m deal for Savinho.
The two clubs are only thought to be ironing out final details such as add-ons and the structure of the deal.
The City winger is reportedly very keen on completing a move to Tottenham, who first expressed an interest in his services 12 months ago.

Many Spurs fans will be aware that Fabrizio Romano has even reported that Savinho has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with Tottenham.
All signs thus suggest that the deal is on course to go through, but The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson has now bucked the trend and claimed that a deal is nowhere close.
Jackson took to social media to assert that Man City have not even heard from Tottenham regarding Savinho.
However, it is unclear whether Jackson js talking about ‘official’ contact in the way of an offer, or more informal talks.

Jackson seems to be the odd one here, with almost every major journalist and outlet reporting that talks have been ongoing between Man City and Tottenham for a while.
Spurs fans should be confident of this deal getting done, with many in the know hinting that it is well on track.
While Romano has not yet given his ‘here we go’ for Savinho’s move to Tottenham, his latest post on the transfer did suggest an agreement is now very close.
