Tottenham fans have all said the same thing after Spurs agreed a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for highly-rated defender Luka Vuskovic, with the transfer dividing opinion among supporters.

After two marquee signings so far this summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur now look set to complete their second sale of the window – and it is certainly a big one.

Spurs Web only recently reported the departure of Alejo Veliz, with Bahia signing the Argentine forward for £7.7m.

However, the first major sale of the summer now looks set to be completed, with Spurs reported to have reached an agreement with Brighton for the transfer of Luka Vuskovic.

The Seagulls have been determined to land the 19-year-old and have submitted multiple bids, which Tottenham initially rejected.

Now, the two clubs have reached an agreement, with Spurs to receive an initial fee of £46m, potentially rising to £50m with add-ons. Tottenham, however, will also retain a 20 per cent sell-on clause as well as matching rights for any future sale.

Tottenham fans react to Luka Vuskovic deal

Following the latest reports, many Tottenham fans have taken to social media to share their reaction to the latest piece of business between Brighton and Spurs.

A large number of supporters are far from pleased to see the Croatian depart, given his talent and potential, and they did not hold back in expressing their frustrations.

One fan wrote: “Goodbye arrogant child, we will all be praying on your downfall.”

Another added: “Not really a**ed, he does not respect us.”

A third commented: “I will hate-watch with every breath he takes.”

Another supporter was equally frustrated with the deal, stating: “That is stupid man, swapping him for Van Hecke is silly.”

However, not all fans were against the move. One said: “Sell-on package is nice. Not overjoyed with this though tbh.” A final supporter shared a more positive view: “Basically swapped him for Van Hecke. One is Premier League proven, one is potential. Pretty good business if you ask me.”

Spurs have protected themselves if Vuskovic fulfils his potential

In terms of the overall structure of the deal agreed with Brighton, it looks strong for Spurs, who will not only benefit from a future sale but also have the option to match any prospective buyer’s offer.

However, the frustrations of fans are understandable given the potential and talent of the young centre-back, who has looked solid while out on loan in recent seasons.

Vuskovic impressed with Hamburg, earning a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season, while he also showed surprising goal-scoring ability with Westerlo, where he managed more league goals than Bukayo Saka despite playing at centre-back.

Over the last two seasons, the Croatian has matched the Arsenal winger’s league goal tally. Now, Spurs would have to watch and see how he fares in the Premier League next season.
