Tottenham Hotspur are one of three clubs interested in Marcus Rashford after Barcelona shared their stance on the Man United star.

Spurs fans will be keen to see the club make some ambitious moves this summer, with the squad’s weaknesses exposed over the last two years.

Tottenham have made it clear that Roberto De Zerbi will be backed, but the supporters will only believe those words if they see the Lilywhites competing for the best talent on the market.

Over recent weeks, it has been suggested that Spurs have been monitoring Rashford’s situation, as Barcelona hesitate to land him permanently, and there has now been a fresh update on the England man’s future.

Tottenham and Arsenal have already held talks over Marcus Rashford deal

The Daily Express has now revealed that Barca are not expected to activate their £26m option-to-buy the 28-year-old for now, as they work on adding other reinforcements to their attack.

The Catalan club are favouring another loan deal for Rashford, so that they can operate with greater flexibility in the transfer market. This comes after Barcelona spent around £70m on Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.

In the meantime, Spurs and their North London rivals, Arsenal, have both held discussions over a deal for the Man United man, having been impressed by his exploits at Camp Nou this season.

Aston Villa are also ready to enter the race for Rashford, who had a successful loan spell at Villa Park in 2024-25.

What is Rashford’s preferred destination?

The Express claims that Rashford and United are poised to hold talks over the coming days regarding his future.

The forward wants clarity before the start of the World Cup, and he is expected to request his parent club to extend his stay in Catalonia.

One sticking point for the Lilywhites might be Rashford’s current £300,000-a-week salary, but Tottenham are expected to remove their self-imposed wage cap this summer.
