Conor Gallagher has opted to change his squad number ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, following the unveiling of the club’s home and away kits.
The World Cup continues to take precedence this summer, leaving club football temporarily in the background.
Nevertheless, preparations for the 2026/27 season are well underway, with the Premier League fixture schedule already released and Spurs unveiling their new home and away kits.
Tottenham will no doubt be hoping for a far stronger domestic campaign than last season, when a poor run of form in the second half of the year left them battling relegation.

Tottenham confirm Conor Gallagher as new number eight
Tottenham have now confirmed that Conor Gallagher will wear the number eight shirt.
Yves Bissouma was the previous holder, but his departure has been confirmed after Tottenham chose not to extend his contract.
Gallagher, who joined for £25m in the winter window, had been wearing number 22 and played a vital role in Spurs’ fight for survival last season.
Fans will recall his standout performance against Aston Villa, where he covered every blade of grass and scored in a crucial 2-1 victory, a result that proved decisive in the battle to stay up.
Gallagher now joins a notable list of players to have worn the shirt.
