Tottenham Hotspur face huge competition from Premier League rivals and from European clubs for Antonio Nusa, whose list of admirers has grown substantially.

Tottenham are looking to sign three attackers before the start of the season, including two wingers, according to club insider, Paul O’Keefe.

Nusa is one of many left-wingers who have been heavily linked with a move to N17 over the last few weeks.

An update from Germany suggested a few days ago that Newcastle believe they are leading Spurs in the race for Leipzig star, but it has now emerged that the Magpies are not the only ones the Lilywhites have to worry about in the race for the 21-year-old.

Tottenham are in a seven-horse race for Antonio Nusa

Pete O’Rourke has now confirmed that Roberto De Zerbi’s side are indeed fans of the Norwegian winger, but revealed that they face huge competition for the player.

Nusa’s performances at the World Cup have seen his list of admirers grow, with three Premier League sides and three European clubs also eyeing moves for the player.

When asked about the speculation linking Nusa with a move to N17, O’Rourke told Football Insider: “There’ll be a host of Premier League clubs who would be interested in Antonio Nusa. His World Cup displays have attracted growing interest in him. Tottenham are interested in him as they look to bring a left-sided attacker. Arsenal are also in the market for a left-sided attacker. Palace are long-term admirers.

“Aston Villa and Newcastle are both believed to be keeping tabs on the situation. You’ve got a number of clubs in Italy, the likes of AC Milan, Napoli, Atletico Madrid, and others are all looking at the Norwegian as well.”

Spurs will have to spend big to land Nusa

O’Rourke revealed that Leipzig are not keen to let the pacy winger leave the Red Bull Arena, and are in a strong negotiating position.

He explained that the Bundesliga club are braced for offers, but will only sell the Norway internaitonal for a fee in excess of £50m.

The journalist added about the former Club Brugge man: “Look, he’s having a good World Cup, but RB Leipzig don’t really want to lose him. If they are to let him leave, it would take a huge fee for him as well. You’re probably looking in excess of £50m considering what Nusa has done at the World Cup.

“Leipzig are in a strong position due to his contract situation and they’re under no immediate pressure to sell. But if he continues to shine like he has done for Norway at the World Cup, I’m sure they’ll be bracing themselves for offers.”
