Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a Paris Saint-Germain starlet, but they face plenty of competition from Premier League rivals and European clubs for the player’s signature.
Tottenham are tracking many wide players around Europe, with Roberto De Zerbi said to be keen on adding multiple wingers to his squad ahead of the new season.
The likes of Rafael Leao and Savinho continue to be mooted as targets for Spurs, but the Lilywhites are also seemingly looking at a highly-rated teenager.
The player in question is an 18-year-old Senegal international, who found the back of the net at the World Cup.
Tottenham battling Man City and Aston Villa for PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye
It first emerged last week that Spurs had registered an interest in Ibrahim Mbaye, who struggled to get starts at PSG last season.
It has now emerged that the 18-year-old, who is comfortable on either flank, is also attracting the interest of several other top clubs from around the continent.
This is according to an update by Santi Aouna, who has revealed that Tottenham and Aston Villa are both following Mbaye closely.
He asserted that Manchester City have now also added the Senegalese teenager to their wishlist, thus making the pursuit more complicated for Spurs.
Mbaye wants to leave Paris this summer
Aouna further reveals that Bundesliga duo RB Lezpig and Borussia Dortmund are also keeping a close eye on Mbaye’s situation.
The Spurs target is thought to be valued by PSG at €35m (£30m), and Aouna has now confirmed that the youngster is looking to leave Paris and that the Ligue 1 giants are willing to grant that wish.
The Foot Mercato reporter said on X: “Manchester City has added Ibrahim Mbaye to its list of players being tracked for this summer transfer window. Several major European clubs, including Tottenham, Aston Villa, Leipzig, and Dortmund, are also closely following the 18-year-old winger. Ibrahim Mbaye wants to leave PSG this summer, while the Parisian club is also open to a transfer.”
