Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a late move for an experienced Bundesliga star, but they face competition from Manchester United.
We are now into the final two weeks of the transfer window, and it is clear that Tottenham’s priority is to strengthen their attack.
In fact, reports indicate that Spurs are looking to make three additions to their attack before the window slams shut, with Cody Gakpo, Savinho and a striker on their wishlist.
There have been suggestions that the Lilywhites could also sign a right-back to replace Djed Spence, and a new update has now suggested that Roberto De Zerbi’s men are exploring another defensive addition.

Tottenham and Man United exploring late move for Edmond Tapsoba
According to Fussball Daten, Manchester United and Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba.
Both Premier League clubs are said to be keen on adding defensive depth to their squad and have identified the 27-year-old as an option.
Spurs and the Red Devils have been in contact with Tapsoba’s representatives, and it is suggested that a move to the English top-flight may appeal to the centre-back after spending six years at Leverkusen.
The website claims that it would take an offer of around €50m (£42.7m) to prise the Burkina Faso international away from Bay Arena.
Spurs are not likely to spend over £40m on a centre-back
Despite Cristian Romero’s departure, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are well stocked for options in central defence.
With Micky van de Ven and Marcos Senesi for the left side and Jan Paul van Hecke and Kevin Danso for the right side, the Italian now has four reliable options at his disposal.
Additionally, Ben Davies has also signed a contract extension and will be available to cover in case of an injury crisis. It thus seems extremely unlikely that Tottenham would spend big on another central defender at this stage of the window.
