Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a La Liga defensive starlet, but they face competition from two of their Premier League rivals.

Roberto De Zerbi already has two players for every position in his backline even if Cristian Romero leaves Tottenham as expected this summer.

However, there have been some murmurs over recent weeks regarding the possibility of Destiny Udogie returning to Serie A, while over the last few days, reports have indicated that Everton may be plotting an offer for Djed Spence.

Amid this transfer speculation, it appears that De Zerbi’s men are exploring a move for a 23-year-old Spanish full-back, who faces an uncertain future.

Tottenham battling Newcastle and Nottingham Forest for Sevilla’s Joaquin Oso

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, Sevilla’s Joaquin Oso is one of the names on the radar of the North London club.

The 23-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or a left wing-back, arrived at Seville from Malaga back in 2022, but it took him until last season to establish himself as a regular in the starting eleven.

Oso’s impressive performances for the La Liga side last term have brought him to the attention of Premier League clubs, with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United also joining Spurs in the race.

The Spaniard has less than a year left on his contract, and Sevilla’s attempts to tie him down to a new deal have collapsed due to the player’s high wage demands

The club are keen to avoid losing him for free, and are well aware of the growing interest in the full-back’s signature.

Seville give transfer ultimatum to Oso

Vamos Mi Sevilla say that the interest in the left-back is not restricted to England, with Villarreal, Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Fiorentina also in the mix to sign him.

Sevilla have issued an ultimatum to Oso’s representatives, setting a deadline for signing a new contract, although the exact date is unclear.

The outlet adds that if the full-back does not sign a new deal before the deadline, he will be made available for a price of around €10m (£8.5m).
