The race for Tottenham target Alex Scott is wide open after Chelsea’s latest bid was rejected and Bournemouth’s contract offer was snubbed.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer spree has seen them bolster their midfield ranks after splurging £185 million on both Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

However, the arrival of the pair has created a domino effect, leading Lucas Bergvall to seek a move away from north London.

Tottenham do not want to lose the midfielder, and Roberto De Zerbi has since sent a clear message to Bergvall regarding his Spurs future.

Tottenham target Alex Scott pushes to leave Bournemouth

Despite their depth in midfield, Tottenham are still understood to be looking to secure an additional midfielder.

One name that has been on their radar is Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, who, ironically, is a Tottenham fan. Spurs, though, are not alone in the race to sign the midfielder.

Bournemouth are looking to tie him down to a new contract, but the Englishman has rejected their latest offer. The Standard has now revealed that Scott has made his desire to leave Bournemouth known to the club. The midfielder is said to be keen on a move away from the Cherries this summer.

Chelsea remain biggest threat as Spurs weigh up next move

Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been credited with interest in Scott. The 22-year-old had a stellar campaign with Bournemouth, playing a big role in their top-six finish last season.

Chelsea, however, remain the biggest threat to Spurs in this race, with the Blues having already submitted a £64 million bid for the Bournemouth man.

Their offer has since been rejected, but The Standard explains that Scott is keen on a move to Chelsea this summer.

However, with the midfielder now making his intentions to leave the Vitality Stadium clear, Tottenham could perhaps step up their interest in the midfielder.
