Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attention to La Liga as they look to sign a new right-back to compete with Pedro Porro.
Archie Gray has not covered himself in glory at right-back in the first few games of the season, but Roberto De Zerbi has maintained that the 20-year-old is more than capable of playing at right-back.
However, despite those words, reports over recent days have claimed that De Zerbi would ideally prefer to add a more experienced right-back to his squad before the September 1 deadline.
It appears that the Lilywhites have now turned their attention to a 24-year-old who has been impressing in La Liga over the last two seasons.
Tottenham eyeing move for Real Sociedad defender Jon Aramburu
According to Football Insider, Real Sociedad right-back Jon Aramburu has been identified by Spurs as a possible replacement for Djed Spence.
The outlet says that Tottenham are among several Premier League clubs who have been monitoring the progress of Aramburu, who has come on leaps and bounds since his move to Spain.
It is revealed that the Sociedad star has a release clause of £51m in his contract, but the report does not say what the asking price of the La Liga clubs is likely to be.
Sociedad are expected to complete the signing of Barcelona right-back Hector Fort in a £7m deal this week, and his arrival could pave the way for Aramburu to be sold.
Spurs also eyeing two Premier League right-backs
Tottenham were thought to be fans of Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz, but it looks like the right-wing-back will be joining Oliver Glasner at Nottingham Forest instead.
Meanwhile, Forest star Neco Williams continues to be linked with a move to the North London club, although there is no indication at the moment that Oliver Glasner’s men are prepared to sell.
Some fans on social media this week even argued that Conor Gallagher could prove an effective utility man to deploy at right-back, rather than Archie Gray.
