Tottenham Hotspur set their sights on a highly-rated attacker, who is turning a lot of heads with his performances in Portugal at the start of the season.

Spurs’ shortcomings in attack have been exposed at the start of the season, even though the Lilywhites spent big to reinforce their forward line.

Tottenham have struggled to create chances and are yet to find the back of the net even once in their first four league games, which is the first time it has happened in the history of the club.

It appears that the Lilywhites are already looking for solutions ahead of the January window, and they have turned their attention to a 25-year-old winger.

Tottenham eyeing move for Sporting Lisbon winger Geny Catamo

According to Record (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham are keeping tabs on the progress of Geny Catamo, whose stock has risen considerably over the last 12 months.

The pacy winger caught the eye by scoring eight goals and providing five assists last term, and he has made an impressive start to the new campaign, with two goals and three assists in six matches so far.

Catamo’s impressive displays have not just brought him to the attention of Tottenham, but also Premier League rivals Sunderland, who are continuing to watch him after showing interest in the summer.

The Mozambique international is also on the radar of Serie A side Como ahead of the January window, but there is no indication in the report of how much Sporting will demand for the player.

Latest injury leaves Roberto De Zerbi short of options in key area

Summer signing Mykhailo Mudryk has picked up an ankle injury after playing just one game for Tottenham.

The Ukrainian could now miss seven matches for Spurs, which comes as a big blow for De Zerbi, leaving Mathys Tel as Tottenham’s only fit left-wing option.

With Wilson Odobert recovering from an ACL injury and still a while away from returning to the pitch, Spurs may be forced to enter the market for another winger in January.
