Tottenham suffer a major injury blow just hours after James Maddison returned to first‑team training ahead of the Everton clash.
Tottenham Hotspur received a big boost on the injury front earlier today ahead of their clash against Everton.
The boost came in the form of James Maddison, who was spotted in first‑team training as preparations for the weekend ramped up.
The Englishman had missed the last two games for Tottenham after suffering a shoulder injury in the opening Premier League clash against Brentford.

Following Maddison’s return, it did look like Spurs’ injury list was set to go down to just two, with Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert the only sidelined players.
That, however, did not last long, as Mykhailo Mudryk is understood to have picked up an ankle injury that is set to keep him out until after the international break, according to football.london.
The Ukrainian only just signed for Spurs in the summer on loan and made his Tottenham debut in the clash against Nottingham Forest from the bench.
His 14 minutes of action marked his first competitive match since November 2024. However, the 25‑year‑old has now suffered a big blow as he looks to get his career back on track.
Mudryk setback leaves Spurs short on the left
That leaves Tottenham with limited options on the left, as Mathys Tel goes back to being the club’s only recognised left winger.
De Zerbi already vented his frustrations with the Frenchman following the clash against Nottingham Forest last weekend, with the Spurs boss criticising Tel’s decision‑making in the final third.
He said: “We have Mathys Tel, big potential. But also Mathys takes too many wrong decisions, and Mudryk. So, two big players, two big potential players.”
However, the versatility of other players is sure to give De Zerbi more options on the left, with both Savio and Omar Marmoush capable of playing from that side. Tottenham could also turn to young talent Luca Williams‑Barnett for extra cover.
