Tottenham’s pursuit of Crysencio Summerville is getting harder after the winger’s impressive start to Netherlands’ World Cup campaign.

The media continues to carry reports that Tottenham are looking to poach Summerville from their fierce rivals after sending West Ham down to the Championship.

A couple of weeks ago, one Dutch outlet even reported that Spurs were preparing a ‘concrete offer’ for the Hammers winger, but no bid appears to have gone in so far.

The 24-year-old found the back of the net for the Netherlands in their World Cup opener against Japan, his performance against the Japanese may be the catalyst for antoher another Premier League giant to enter the race.

Man United ready to challenge Tottenham for Crysencio Summerville

According to The Athletic, Man United are now ‘paying serious attention to Summerville’, who is thought to rank highly on the club’s list of winger targets.

United are continuing to study various wide options, and they are aware that West Ham would demand close to £50m for the Dutchman, who is contracted until 2029 at the London Stadium.

This has not deterred the Red Devils, who are looking at Summerville closely and are considering paying the Hammers’ asking price.

However, the report adds that a deal for the former Leeds United man may hinge on Michael Carrick’s side ofloading Marcus Rashford. This affects Tottenham in more ways than one, with Spurs continuing to explore a move for Rashford.
