Tim Sherwood has now shared his verdict on the Luka Vuskovic transfer saga as Tottenham Hotspur consider their next move amid growing interest from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Tottenham Hotspur‘s Luka Vuskovic has continued to attract interest from clubs across Europe as he impresses at a young age.
Before the summer transfer window, reports suggested that Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool were all keen on Vuskovic.
However, this summer has seen Brighton submit a bid for Vuskovic amid Tottenham’s interest in Jan Paul van Hecke.

Tottenham urged to keep Luka Vuskovic despite Brighton interest
While it is claimed that the two deals are not closely linked, the Seagulls’ £30m offer for Vuskovic has surely left Spurs with something to think about.
Reports stating that Vuskovic has agreed personal terms with Brighton only make the situation even more intriguing.
Spurs Web have since reported that Tottenham have rejected Brighton’s offer for Vuskovic, although the Seagulls are expected to return with another bid.
Former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood has now shared his thoughts on the situation, explaining why he believes Tottenham should think carefully before making a decision.
Speaking on the matter, Sherwood told Sky Sports: “He’s a prospect, you know, they signed him for a reason. He’s sent him out on loan to Hamburg. He’s done very well, played in a number of games, albeit it’s not in the Premier League, but there’s an opportunity possibly if Brighton want him to loan him to Brighton, you may get a loan fee if they are interested in making money.
“But it should not be about making money. I mean what is £30m these days? You get pub players for that. So I will be saying, do not take the money, let the kid have an opportunity.
“But one thing I would say, trust Roberto De Zerbi. You know, Van Hecke he wants, go and get him for him. He’s brought Marcos Senesi in already. So you’ve got centre-halves there.
“One thing Vuskovic himself will not want is to come into Tottenham Hotspur and not play on a regular basis. So if he’s not going to play, loan him out to Brighton. Get a possible loan fee, then you can see him play against Tottenham’s opposition week in, week out and make a proper judgement.”
Spurs may struggle to find a compromise with Brighton
Of course, sending Vuskovic out on loan to a Premier League side would be the ideal situation for Tottenham.
That would allow the Croat time to gain regular game time in a league as competitive as the English first division.
However, knowing Brighton, it is very unlikely they would agree to a loan deal, help develop a player for Spurs and then allow him to return without making any profit.
Based on the Seagulls’ model, one way Spurs might be able to get them to agree to a deal is by inserting a buy-back clause, and that in itself would not come cheap.
