Tottenham Hotspur could soon have another major boost to their attacking options, with Dejan Kulusevski appearing to have taken another step towards his long-awaited return.
For much of his time since Roberto De Zerbi took charge of Tottenham, the Italian has not had an abundance of creative attacking options to work with, as was still the case as recently as last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Brentford.
The situation has since improved significantly, with the club completing the double signing of Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City.
Both forwards are expected to be involved in Saturday’s home clash against Newcastle United and should provide some much-needed firepower to Tottenham’s attack.
Spurs could receive another boost as Mohammed Kudus nears a return after being out of action since early January. De Zerbi revealed that the Ghanaian could even make the bench against Newcastle.
There could now be another attacking option edging closer to a return at Hotspur Way.
Dejan Kulusevski spotted back in Tottenham training
Dejan Kulusevski has not played a competitive game since May 2025 and has endured a particularly difficult recovery from a complicated knee injury.
The 26-year-old returned to individual training earlier this month, although De Zerbi confirmed only last week that he was still working separately with an individual coach rather than the rest of the squad.
That appears to have changed now, with the latest training footage from Hotspur Way showing Kulusevski working alongside his Tottenham teammates.
More notably, the midfielder was also involved in contact training, another encouraging sign that he could be edging closer to a return.
Dejan Kulusevski leaves Tottenham fans intrigued
Shortly after the training session, Kulusevski took to Instagram and posted a picture alongside a cryptic message, which read: “När dem säger nej vi säger ja”, which translates to “when they say no, we say yes”.
Whatever the message was referring to, Spurs fans will certainly hope it is another indication that Kulusevski is closing in on his return, because a fully fit version of the 26-year-old would be an extremely valuable option for De Zerbi.
