Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has provided an injury update on his squad’s fitness ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Tottenham Hotspur’s attention is now set to turn back to Premier League action this weekend following their midweek Carabao Cup outing.
The Lilywhites were ruthless in their cup tie against Charlton Athletic, beating the Championship side 5-1 and bouncing back from their 3-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend.
However, up next is sure to be a tougher opponent, with Newcastle making a trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take on De Zerbi’s men.

Roberto De Zerbi provides Tottenham injury update ahead of Newcastle United clash
Both sides come into this league game in search of a first Premier League victory. Newcastle were held to a 2-2 draw at St James’ Park when they took on Liverpool last weekend, while Spurs lost to Brentford.
De Zerbi will now be hoping his side can bounce back and get their first three points of the 26-27 league campaign.
However, he will have to do so without a few of his Tottenham stars who are still nursing injuries.
Spurs Web reported earlier this week that two Tottenham players are back fit and are in contention to start this weekend.
That includes Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro, who both made their return in the midweek clash against Charlton.
James Maddison, on the other hand, picked up a knock in the Brentford game and is nursing a shoulder injury that is expected to keep him out for two weeks.
But there is positive news regarding Mohammed Kudus, who is nearing a comeback with the Ghana international now back in training.
Still, usual absentees remain, with Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert all out and unavailable for tomorrow’s game.
Ahead of the Newcastle United match, De Zerbi has now provided an injury update on his Tottenham squad.
De Zerbi provided updates on six players to the Tottenham media team:
- Omar Marmoush is available to play
- Micky Van de Ven and Pedro Porro are available
- Savio is ready to play after his cameo against Charlton
- Mohammed Kudus could make the bench
- James Maddison will be assessed ahead of the game
