Tottenham fans should expect ‘further capital injection’ from Lewis family in the coming weeks

Tottenham fans will be pleased to hear what the Lewis family are set to do this summer transfer window as the Lilywhites accelerate their squad rebuild.

By the time the transfer window officially opens in a week, Tottenham may have already completed four new signings.

Marcos Senesi is soon expected to be confirmed as a Tottenham player, following the arrival of another free agent in Andy Robertson.

Spurs are also accelerating efforts to land both Jan Paul Van Hecke and Savinho, with De Zerbi seemingly prioritising adding Premier League experience to his squad.

Lewis family ready to pump more money into Tottenham this summer

Reports indicate that Tottenham will continue their spending spree this summer, with the club intent on making big changes after two successive 17th-place finishes in the Premier League.

Some may wonder how the club can afford that, given Spurs’ accounts show a growing cash flow problem.

Matt Law has now revealed on the Last Word on Spurs podcast that Tottenham’s owners are prepared to provide the additional funds required for the club’s rebuild.

The Telegraph reporter claims that the Lewis family are expected to make another capital injection into the North London club over the coming weeks.

Law said: “They’ve insisted all the time that the club’s not for sale. And you know, they’ve already put one injection of 100 million pound of capital not long after Daniel Levy left, and I’m told that in the next… very soon, whether it be the next week, the next two weeks, next three weeks, that there’s a further capital injection being made into the club.

“They’ve obviously gone big on Roberto De Zerbi. You know, they’re paying him an awful lot of money. He’s now one of the best-paid managers in the Premier League. He’s earned a whacking great bonus for keeping the club up and they’re going to go, it seems they’re going to go quite big in the transfer market.

“So, nothing really points to them selling up at this stage. And I take them at their word. They’re absolutely insistent they’re not for sale. They’re absolutely insistent they’re fully committed, and they’re absolutely insistent that they’ll show that commitment. And I’ve got to say, their actions do suggest that that is the case.”

Spurs are also looking to sell this smartly this summer

Vinai Venkatesham has admitted that Tottenham need to improve how they sell players if they want to build a strong squad that can challenge for honours.

We already saw that in January when Spurs sold Brennan Johnson for £35m just months after he had scored the winner in the Europa League final.

The club may continue to operate with similar ruthlessness this summer, with names such as Richarlison, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Pape Sarr, and perhaps even Luka Vuskovic potentially available for sale for a big fee.
