Tottenham Hotspur fans believe they have one of the best full-backs in the world in their squad after Pedro Porro’s latest World Cup heroics.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is slowly coming to an end, with just the final four teams remaining.
Spain, France, England and Argentina are the sides still standing, but it is Spain who have booked their place in the final after beating the 2022 World Cup finalists 2-0 on Tuesday night.
It was a display of real quality, with Spain keeping France’s lethal attacking players – Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola – quiet throughout the 90 minutes.
That victory for Luis de la Fuente’s side means Tottenham Hotspur now have their first World Cup finalist of the 2026 tournament.

The semi-final clash against France also saw Pedro Porro produce what can only be described as one of his best performances for Spain.
The full-back remained disciplined defensively, keeping Barcola quiet before providing an attacking threat of his own later in the game.
Porro got on the scoresheet, grabbing Spain’s second goal in the 58th minute after a brilliant overlapping run and excellent link-up play with Dani Olmo.
His standout display has now left Tottenham fans convinced they have one of the best right-backs in world football.
Taking to social media, one fan said: “our f**king rb😭😭😭top 5 in the world on his position.”
Porro only recently put pen to paper on a new contract at Spurs, and one supporter believes that now looks like a blessing: “That new contract seems like a blessing now.”
One more added: “Not crazy to say he’s been player of the tournament tbh. Hasn’t stepped a foot wrong the whole time.”
The praise kept coming, with one fan describing him as elite: “He’s been absolutely elite this World Cup.” Another added: “Absolutely superb! Well done Pedro! Brilliant stuff!”
One more fan had him among Spain’s best performers: “Been spains best player this tournament with oyazrbal and Rodri.” While another fan stated: “And yet some people wanted to bin him off.”
A final fan commented: “We dont know how good we have it with Porro.”
Spurs guaranteed to have another World Cup winner
Tottenham are now guaranteed to have a World Cup winner in their squad after Cristian Romero lifted the trophy with Argentina in 2022.
With Spain through to the final and Argentina and England set to battle for the remaining place, one of Djed Spence, Romero, Porro or Marcos Senesi could become a world champion.
That will only strengthen the experience within the Spurs squad and help create a winning culture in the dressing room as they prepare to embark on a new era under Roberto De Zerbi.
