Newcastle United are now looking to raid Tottenham Hotspur for a midfielder after losing Sandro Tonali to the Lilywhites earlier in the window.
While Spurs have made some ambitious signings so far this summer, the club are also potentially set to lose some of their best young talents ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.
Luka Vuskovic has completed a £50m switch to Brighton, with the Croat departing the North London club without making a single competitive appearance for them.
Additionally, some sources indicate that Spurs are willing to sell Lucas Bergvall to the highest bidder this summer, and it has now emerged that the Swede is not the only young Tottenham midfielder attracting transfer interest.

Newcastle plot move to sign Archie Gray from Tottenham
During the negotiations between Newcastle and Tottenham for Tonali, it emerged that the Magpies had failed with an offer for Archie Gray, although other sources denied that any such offer had been made.
Now, The Chronicle Live have claimed that Gray is indeed on Newcastle’s wishlist this summer as they look to rebuild their midfield.
Eddie Howe’s men have lost Tonali and are also at risk of losing their captain Bruno Guimaraes, and they want to replace the pair with young players with high potential.
Gray, who was voted Tottenham’s Player of the Year last term, is in their sights, with Newcastle making ‘further enquiries’ about his availability.
Spurs have no intention of selling Gray
The Chronicle Live make it clear that Newcastle ‘haven’t advanced their interest yet’ in the Spurs midfielder, with their interest still at a nascent stage.
It was previously reported by TEAMtalk that Spurs have no plans of allowing Gray to leave this summer, even though the 20-year-old struggled for starts under Roberto De Zerbi last season.
The outlet added that, unlike Bergvall, the former Leeds man has no concerns about his role under the Italian coach, and that the England U21 international has been assured of his importance to the club.
