There is huge pressure on Tottenham Hotspur as they go in search of their first win of the Premier League season against Aston Villa.

Spurs and Roberto De Zerbi have come under scathing criticism over the last few days, and they will be desperate to silence their critics.

With a three-week international break to follow the clash against Villa, those voices of discontent will only grow if the Lilywhites fail to beat Unai Emery’s side.

The Tottenham fans are desperate to see their side score a goal, with the club having gone six hours of Premier League football without finding the back of the net this campaign.

Ally McCoist expects Tottenham to edge out Aston Villa

Some pundits, such as Chris Sutton, have predicted that Villa will add to Spurs’ misery by beating them at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Ally McCoist disagrees, with the former Rangers boss backing De Zerbi’s men to score two goals and pick up their first win of the season.

The pundit said on TNT Sports: “I can see Tottenham knicking this, believe it or not, I really can. I know they don’t look like scoring goals, 0-0 against Everton last week. Could it be a 1-0? I’ll give Villa a goal. I’m gonna go 2-1 Tottenham. I think they’ll get their first victory this weekend.”

Spurs receive double injury boost ahead of Villa clash

Tottenham were without six players for their 3-1 loss at Liverpool on Tuesday, with their four long-term absentees joined on the sidelines by Sandro Tonali and Pedro Porro.

However, De Zerbi has confirmed that Porro and Tonali are both available for selection for the Villa clash, and his side has no fresh injuries from midweek.

Unai Emery’s side could miss as many as seven players for their trip to North London, as they go looking for their first win of the campaign.
