Middlesbrough have secured the services of another Tottenham academy star, just 14 days after completing the Will Lankshear deal.
Tottenham Hotspur and Middlesbrough have already done business this summer transfer window.
The Championship side agreed a deal with Spurs for academy talent Will Lankshear following his stellar campaign in the English second division last season.
Lankshear grabbed 14 goals on loan at Oxford United in a stellar campaign that led to a £20 million move to Boro.
However, the Championship side have once again secured the services of a Tottenham youngster this summer transfer window.
Tottenham confirm Ashley Phillips move to Middlesbrough
According to Tottenham, 21-year-old Ashley Phillips has now completed a permanent move to Middlesbrough.
The young defender spent last season on loan at Stoke City, where he managed 40 appearances for the Championship side.
Phillips managed two appearances for Tottenham but spent most of his time on loan in the English second division after moving from Blackburn Rovers.
He does, however, bring significant Championship experience, having made 101 appearances across four seasons.
Spurs continue academy clear-out
The price for Phillips was originally rumoured to be at £7m plus £13m in add-ons, but there were some delays to the deal due to an issue with his medical. It is unclear whether there was then a subsequent change on price.
Spurs continue to rack up the sales this summer and, with the departure of Phillips, have now completed their seventh sale of the transfer window.
The 21-year-old joins Alfie Devine, Tynan Thompson and Will Lankshear as academy players to have departed permanently.
Across all completed sales, Tottenham have generated £204.2 million (including the upcoming Djed Spence deal), taking their net spend to just £32.8 million this summer.
