Whatever happens in the semifinals of the World Cup, there will be at least one Tottenham representative in the showpiece final on Sunday.

10 Tottenham stars saw their nations progress to the knockout stages of the World Cup, with only Andy Robertson’s Scotland and Rodrigo Bentancur’s Uruguay falling at the group stage.

We are now into the pointy end of the tournament, and four Tottenham representatives remain across the three sides.

Pedro Porro, Djed Spence, and Cristian Romero have all had good tournaments, while Marcos Senesi is on standby for Argentina if there are injuries to their main centre-backs.

At least one Tottenham player will feature in the biggest game in world football

France are the only team out of the four semifinalists to not have a Tottenham player in their ranks.

Romero is set to lock horns against his Tottenham teammate Spence and his former Spurs teammate Harry Kane in the second semifinal at the Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday.

That means that at least one Spurs player is guaranteed to be part of the showpiece final at MetLife Stadium this Sunday.

Romero has already shot a warning to England ahead of the semifinal, insisting that he and his Argentine teammates will leave everything on the pitch as they attempt to make a second consecutive final.

A favourable result on Tuesday will guarantee a Spurs World Cup winner

Opta’s Supercomputer considers France the favourites to win the tournament, giving Les Blues a 33.58 per cent chance of winning the trophy.

That means that according to the data analysis platform, there is a 66.42 per cent chance that a Tottenham player will lift a World Cup.

If Spain overcome France in Tuesday’s semifinal at the Dallas Stadium, the final is guaranteed to have at least two Spurs representatives, one on either side.
