Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly inserted an interesting clause in Luka Vuskovic’s contract, which comes in handy for the North London club amidst the centre-back’s latest injury.
There have been mixed reports regarding Vuskovic’s knee injury, which has seen him miss Hamburg’s recent defeats to Stuttgart and Werder Bremen.
A report from Germany revealed earlier this week that the Tottenham man’s knee joint had been more severely damaged than initially thought.
However, an update from Croatia suggested on Tuesday that Spurs are only being cautious with Vuskovic and that his injury is not as serious as some sources suggest.

Tottenham’s clause allows them to dictate when Luka Vuskovic will return to action
A new report in Hamburger Abendblatt has now shed light on Spurs’ role in deciding when the 19-year-old will feature for HSV again.
It is explained that the Premier League side inserted a clause in Vuskovic’s loan deal which allows them to decide when the defender will return in case of an injury.
As a result, the decision will not just be down to HSV, who are involved in a relegation battle, with Roberto De Zerbi’s men first needing to greenlight his involvement in a match.
However, the outlet adds that Hamburg are hoping that Vuskovic could feature in their crucial game against Hoffenheim later this weekend.
Why Spurs will not want to take any risks regarding Vuskovic
Reports in England indicate that Tottenham are at risk of losing both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the summer, even if they remain in the Premier League.
That is perhaps why many expect Vuskovic to be a starter under Roberto De Zerbi at Spurs next season.
The Tottenham boss will want the teenager to be fully fit for the start of pre-season, and with the centre-back also likely to play a part in Croatia’s World Cup campaign this summer, the Lilywhites may not want to risk a re-injury by greenlighting an early return.
