A new report has shed light on whether Tottenham Hotspur have a realistic chance of securing the services of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott this summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Vitality Stadium and would have been disappointed to miss out on the England squad for the World Cup.

However, Scott’s impressive performances last season have caught the attention of Tottenham, who are exploring a move to bring the midfielder to N17.

The Bournemouth midfielder is a boyhood Spurs fan, which the Lilywhites may hope gives them an advantage in the transfer race, but the youngster will not come cheap.

How much would Tottenham have to pay for Alex Scott this summer?

The Athletic have now provided the latest information on the midfielder’s chances of sealing a move away from Bournemouth before the start of next season.

It is revealed that with Scott having just two years left to run on his contract, Bournemouth are keen to hand their starlet a new contract and have insisted that he is not for sale.

The Cherries are willing to add a release clause of around £75m on the former Bristol City man’s new deal to convince him to sign on the dotted line.

However, the report adds that Scott’s suitors may feel that they have a chance of clinching a deal for around £60m this summer, given the player’s contract situation.

Spurs battling two Premier League giants for Scott

Spurs Web has relayed multiple reports over recent weeks stating that Man United are ready to challenge Spurs for Scott’s signature.

Additionally, some sources have claimed that Chelsea are also looking to beat Tottenham to the Bournemouth midfielder’s signing.

Meanwhile, other outlets such as GiveMeSport have put the Cherries’ asking price for Scott at £80m. It thus appears that a massive effort will be required from De Zerbi’s side to secure the England U21 international.
