Tottenham Hotspur have proposed a unique formula to West Ham to push through a deal for Mateus Fernandes, but competition for the midfielder remains intense.
Tottenham and Man United continue to be locked in talks with West Ham over Fernandes, who is expected to leave the London Stadium following the Hammers’ relegation.
It has been reported by Fabrizio Romano that a bidding war could emerge between Spurs and United over the Portuguese midfielder
The Italian suggested that it will come down to whichever clubs offer a better financial package to West Ham, with the player open to joining either the Lilywhites or the Red Devils.

Two other European giants also interested in Tottenham target Mateus Fernandes
ExWHUEmployee, who is a West Ham insider who often breaks news about the developments at the club, has now made an interesting revelation about Fernandes on his Patreon.
He explained that the East London club are holding out for more than £85m and are hoping for a bidding war between Tottenham Hotspur and United.
However, he claimed that those are not the only two clubs in the race for the 21-year-old, adding that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also monitoring Fernandes’ situation.
That could be bad news for the Lilywhites as it potentially risks pushing up the cost of the operation even further.
Spurs offer winger on loan to West Ham as part of Fernandes deal
ExWHUEmployee revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are currently in no rush to sell the former Southampton man.
He claims that Spurs have offered some of their players to West Ham to tempt them into the sale, including the idea of allowing Mikey Moore to join the East London club on loan.
Former Rangers manager Danny Rohl confirmed that he wanted to re-sign Moore on loan, and that conversations will be held with Tottenham about the winger.
