Tottenham Hotspur have now confirmed the sale of Alfie Devine to Preston North End, with their net spend having hit £151.9m this summer.
Alfie Devine is undoubtedly one of Tottenham Hotspur’s brightest prospects to have emerged from the academy in recent years.
However, the attacking midfielder never quite managed to establish himself in a Tottenham shirt, making just two appearances for the Lilywhites.
One of those appearances was memorable, though, as Devine became Tottenham’s youngest-ever player and goalscorer in 2021 against Marine in the FA Cup.

Tottenham complete Alfie Devine sale to Preston North End
The 21-year-old has been sent out on loan four times since joining Spurs, with his most recent spell at Preston North End proving to be his most successful.
Devine impressed in the Championship, registering 15 goal contributions in 45 appearances, marking the best return of his senior career so far.
Preston had an option to buy included in Devine’s loan deal, and although they did not activate it before its expiration, Tottenham have now confirmed that Preston have completed the permanent signing of Devine.
The midfielder attracted interest from several clubs, including Celtic, but opted to return to the Championship, where he will reunite with manager Paul Heckingbottom.
His departure brings an end to a six-year spell in north London.

With Devine’s sale confirmed, Tottenham’s net spend this summer now stands at £151.9 million, having recouped £85.1 million from four player sales.
Devine ranks as the lowest fee received, with Preston said to have paid £6 million for his services.
Ahead of him sits Alejo Veliz, sold for £7.7 million, Radu Dragusin, who departed on loan with a future fee of £21.4 million, and Luka Vuskovic, who commanded a £50 million transfer.
