There has been an update on Luka Vuskovic’s injury after the Tottenham centre-back missed Hamburg’s last three games due to an injury.

HSV have lost all three games that the 18-year-old centre-back has missed, which highlights just how important the teenager is to their backline.

There have been mixed reports regarding the severity of Vuskovic’s knee injury and when the Croat is expected to return to action.

Hamburg director Claus Costa last week said that the Spurs youngster is suffering internal bleeding in his knee, which is why he is not being rushed back.

Hamburg ‘positive’ as Vuskovic is set for MRI scans

Bild (as relayed by Sport Witness) have now revealed that the centre-back continues to be on the treatment table and has not returned to training yet.

It is revealed that Vuskovic is set to undertake fresh tests on Monday, including MRI scans, ultrasound examinations and performance tests.

If those results are positive, the HSV medical team will green-light the centre-back’s return to training.

The outlet adds that there is optimism at the Bundesliga side that Vuskovic will feature again for the side this season. It is claimed that the youngster is ‘doing everything he can’ to return to the pitch as HSV fight to avoid relegation.

Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic clause gives them the final say on his return

It has been widely reported that the Tottenham medical team are in contact with Hamburg about the defender’s rehabilitation.

In fact, Hamburger Abendblatt even claimed last week that Spurs have inserted a clause in Vuskovic’s loan contract which gives them the power to decide when he will play.

While the Croat may be keen to return to the pitch and help his teammates, Tottenham may not want to take any risks and risk a reinjury for the centre-back ahead of his return to Hotspur Way this summer.
