Tottenham Hotspur could be about to miss out on Jeremy Monga unless there is a massive twist over the coming days.

It has been widely reported that Spurs are plotting a move for Jeremy Monga, who became the Premier League’s second-youngest debutant during the 2024-25 season at just 15 years and 271 days.

The winger showed plenty of promise in the Championship last season, and it was suggested that Spurs were looking to move to the front of the queue for the Leicester star in January.

With the Foxes having gone down to League One, the 16-year-old may be on the verge of a move to London, but not to Spurs.

Arsenal close to beating Tottenham to Jeremy Monga

It had been reported over recent months that Spurs would have to battle several Premier League clubs for the Leicester starlet, but it is their North London rivals who are favourites to win the race for the attacker.

This is according to The Times, who say that Arsenal are now ‘closing in’ on a deal to take Monga to the Emirates Stadium.

The outlet confirms that the winger was being tracked by several Premier League clubs and reveals that Leicester’s relegation to the third tier has ‘hastened’ his departure from the King Power Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s men are keen to recruit young English talent, and Monga has been identified as a ‘priority target’ by the Gunners.

Spurs optimistic about securing a deal for Premier League winger

The Monga links mostly date back to Thomas Frank’s time at Spurs, and the club’s transfer targets would have likely changed after De Zerbi arrived at the club.

Tottenham are reportedly optimistic of landing Savinho after the Man City winger expressed a desire to move to N17 this summer.

Additionally, some sources have claimed that Savinho may not be the only wide player that arrives through the door at Spurs this window.
