Tottenham Hotspur have discovered the stances of both Neco Williams and Nottingham Forest when it comes to a summer transfer.

It has emerged over recent days that Spurs are considering replacing Djed Spence with Williams on the back of the Welshman’s outstanding displays for Forest last season.

However, a deal for the Liverpool academy graduate is not expected to be easy for the Lilywhites to complete.

It has emerged over the last 24 hours that Man United and Newcastle could challenge Spurs for Williams’ signature, with both the Magpies and the Red Devils looking to add a full-back to their squad.

Tottenham target Neco Williams – Preferred destination revealed

A new report in TEAMtalk confirms that Spurs, Newcastle and Man United are the three clubs looking to raid the City Ground for Williams this summer.

The outlet reveals that the 25-year-old is keen on moving on from Forest this summer, which is good news for Spurs, who are yet to make a formal approach for the player.

However, the bad news for Roberto De Zerbi’s side is that Williams’ preferred destination this summer is Old Trafford.

Sources close to the player have stated that joining Man United holds ‘particular appeal’ to the full-back even though he came through the ranks at bitter rivals Liverpool.

Nottingham Forest determined to keep Williams

TEAMtalk also backs up what other sources have reported over the 25-year-old’s future, stating that Forest are currently holding talks with the defender over a new deal.

The outlet says that discussions between Williams and his employers over a new deal have been ‘constructive’ and the Tricky Trees have no intention of selling the Wales international, who was voted their Player of the Year last term.

However, the website adds that the situation could change if there is an official approach from a top Champions League club for the full-back.
