Tottenham Hotspur have turned down a late expression of interest in a youngster who has started all of the club’s first three matches of the season.
Several exits are expected from Spurs on deadline day, with Kevin Danso expected to soon complete a move to Sunderland on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Additionally, there remains uncertainty over Richarlison, who made a public outburst after rejecting a late move to Everton.
It has now emerged that a 20-year-old Spurs man was also the subject of late transfer interest, but he is expected to stay put at N17.
Tottenham reject approach from unnamed club for Archie Gray
It emerged a couple of days ago that Brentford remain interested in Archie Gray after their deal for the youngster was hijacked by Spurs two years ago.
The Sun have now revealed that the Lilywhites have received a late approach for the former Leeds man, but interestingly, they say that it did not come from the Bees.
While it is unclear which club made the move for Gray, Tottenham turned it down immediately, making it clear that the versatile midfielder is not for sale.
It is revealed that Roberto De Zerbi have no intention of letting the 20-year-old leave after making the youngster a part of the club’s leadership group.
Gray wants to play in midfield
The England U21 international has not pulled up any trees at right-back, and this update from The Sun claims that he wants to play in midfield, which he sees as his natural position.
Tottenham have now reportedly agreed a deal to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea, and while the 28-year-old has primarily been secured as a replacement for Kevin Danso, he can also play at right-back.
Perhaps Adarabioyo’s arrival would free up Gray to be used primarily as a midfielder, but the youngster faces huge competition for places in the middle of the park.
