Tottenham have completed a move for Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, taking their summer spend to just under £400 million.
It has been a summer of big‑money moves for Tottenham Hotspur, who have secured a handful of additions both permanently and for free.
Sandro Tonali stands as the Lilywhites’ biggest purchase this transfer window, with the midfielder costing £100 million.
Spurs’ total spend currently sits at £382 million this summer after eight signings, but that figure has now ticked closer to the £400 million mark after the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has now attached his trademark “here we go” seal of approval to Spurs’ deal for Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Lilywhites identified the Chelsea centre‑back as a replacement for Kevin Danso, who has now sealed a move to Sunderland after Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the defender asked to leave Tottenham this summer.
Tosin has now been brought in to fill in following Danso’s departure, with his transfer costing Spurs £7 million pounds plus add-ons, taking their summer spend this transfer window to £389m.
Romano tweeted: ‘Tosin Adarabioyo to Tottenham, here we go! Deal agreed also on personal terms. Understand CFC receive £7m fixed fee plus add-ons for the defender who’s joining Spurs project. The story revealed in the morning, confirmed.’
This leaves Tosin as the Lilywhites’ tenth and surely final signing of the 2026 summer transfer window. But who knows what surprises deadline day could bring.
Why Spurs switched to a permanent deal for Tosin
Tottenham were originally looking to secure a loan move for Tosin when they first expressed interest in the centre‑back. However, Spurs’ pursuit of Mykhailo Mudryk forced the Lilywhites into a permanent transfer due to Premier League loan rules.
A club cannot take two players on loan from the same team, leading to Spurs’ permanent purchase of Tosin this summer. The former Chelsea man arrives with a wealth of experience, having made 116 appearances in the Premier League.
Fabrizio Romano has also already given the Mudryk to Tottenham deal his ‘here we go’ seal of approval.
