Tottenham Hotspur have added another extremely talented teenager to their academy ranks, but fans won’t see him play for a good number of years.

There has been a lot of attention on the big-money moves the club have made this summer, with Spurs shelling out a club record £237m on six players so far.

However, the Lilywhites have also been quietly continuing to add talented young starlets to their academy ranks.

Spurs have also signed midfield starlet Cole Ramsey following his exit from Aston Villa, while some sources indicate that the Lilywhites are now advancing on a deal for 16-year-old Wolves prospect Kwasi Senyah.

It has now emerged that the North London club have secured a highly-rated 13-year-old striker.

Tottenham sign 13-year-old forward Harley Backhouse

The social media handle, The Talent Hunter, which provides regular updates on the best young players in England, has now confirmed that Tottenham have signed Harley Backhouse from Luton.

The 13-year-old striker arrives at Hotspur Way after scoring an astonishing 66 goals last season for Luton’s age group sides, and he will now link up with Tottenham’s U14s ahead of the new season.

The Talent Hunter wrote on X: “13-year-old forward Harley Backhouse, who scored 66 goals last season, has just completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur from Luton Town. Backhouse had been at Luton since U9 and will now head to Tottenham, where he’ll be joining their U14 age group next season. A really promising young centre-forward – he’ll certainly be a positive addition to Tottenham’s academy.”

Confusion over whether Spurs have signed former Arsenal winger

There have been suggestions that the Lilywhites have poached a highly-rated forward, who left Arsenal’s academy earlier this summer.

The Daily Mail’s Isaan Khan has claimed that Spurs have signed 18-year-old Kyran Thompson after he departed from the Gunners’ academy.

However, with Thompson being spotted at Newcastle airport earlier this week, there is speculation on social media that the Magpies may have hijacked the deal. This is a story that Spurs Web will keep a close eye on over the next few days.
