Fabrizio Romano has provided a big update on the future of Tottenham’s Cristian Romero as speculation continues to run rife over the centre-back’s future.
Romero is still licking his wounds from Sunday’s World Cup final heartbreak, but the centre-back will now have to focus on sorting out his club future ahead of the new season.
Several reports have indicated that Tottenham have already decided to cash in on their captain due to misgivings about his behaviour and discipline.
It was widely reported last week that Spurs offered Romero to Inter Milan when the Nerazzurri made contact to enquire about Djed Spence’s availability.

Fabrizio Romano has now confidently asserted on social media that the 28-year-old will ‘100 per cent’ leave Tottenham before the window slams shut.
The journalist revealed that Romero’s representatives are now expected to hold direct talks with Inter regarding a switch to the San Siro.
He adds that while Barcelona are also fans of the Tottenham man, they will only make a move for him if one of their central defenders leaves the club.
Romano wrote on X: “Cuti Romero will 100% LEAVE Spurs this summer, story from last week confirmed. Inter working on possible deal as direct talks with player’s camp will follow soon, as revealed last week. Barca consider Romero as option only in case of CB exits.”
Spurs would be hoping for a bidding war for Romero
Some sources from Italy have suggested that Tottenham would be willing to sell Romero for just €50m (£42.6m) this summer.
However, the Argentine has been hailed as being the best centre-back on show at the World Cup, and one would expect him to command at least the same fee as Luka Vuskovic, who was sold for £50m to Brighton, despite not having played a single Premier League game.
Sources have said that Romero’s performances at the World Cup have caught the attention of several big clubs, and the Lilywhites may hold out hope that a bidding war ensues for the defender over the coming weeks.
