Tottenham Hotspur supporters have voiced their frustration following another deeply disappointing Premier League campaign, with concerns continuing to grow over the direction of the club.

The 2025/26 season proved to be another difficult one for Tottenham Hotspur, who spent much of the campaign battling against relegation.

The Lilywhites remained without a league win throughout the opening four months of 2026 and even spent several weeks in the bottom three, with relegation at one stage appearing inevitable.

However, following the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs managed to pull themselves clear of danger.

A run of 11 points from seven matches was ultimately enough to secure survival, with Tottenham confirming their Premier League status on the final day of the season after victory over Everton.

Tottenham supporters’ trust release strong statement

The club has since released a statement following Tottenham’s dismal Premier League campaign, promising renewed ambition as Spurs attempt to rebuild and return to competing with the best sides in the division.

Despite those assurances, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust has now issued a strongly worded response addressing the failures of the season and the need for major change at the club.

In a statement released on the Trust’s official website, supporters stressed that avoiding relegation should not be viewed as an achievement and called for accountability from those running the club.

The statement read: “We are extremely relieved that the team has avoided relegation. However, survival is most certainly not cause for celebration.

“This season must be viewed as a very serious warning, not a success. It goes without saying that the standards and ambitions of this Club should always extend far beyond simply remaining in the Premier League and meaningful change will be required to deliver that.

“Finishing where we have is not the outcome of one bad result or one difficult season alone. It is the consequence of repeated failures, poor decisions, and a lack of leadership over a sustained period. We have consistently highlighted what we believe to be strategic and systemic failures, both on and off the pitch. Warnings have been ignored, standards have slipped, and supporters have been asked to accept decline for far too long.

“The pain and anger felt by fans are entirely justified. Supporters have continued to back the team home and away despite being consistently let down, and they deserve far better than this.

“There must now be a moment of reckoning for the Club. Honest reflection, accountability, and meaningful change are required if the Club is to recover and rebuild. We have consistently highlighted what we believe to be strategic and systemic failures, both on and off the pitch, and those concerns remain.

“Over the coming days, we will be consulting with our members to gather their views on the direction of the Club, its leadership, and the changes needed moving forward. Once members have had the opportunity to contribute, we will issue a longer statement reflecting those views and outlining our position in full.

“Our supporters deserve honesty, ambition, and a clear plan to restore pride and competitiveness on and off the pitch.”

Spurs fans now want action from the club

Supporters have every reason to be frustrated and to demand much more from those running the club.

Tottenham have flirted dangerously with relegation across the last two seasons following consecutive 17th-place finishes, and the current trajectory remains deeply concerning.

If the decline is not addressed quickly, Spurs could soon find themselves in the Championship.

The summer transfer window will open shortly, and ahead of that, there have at least been signs of ambition in the market based on the latest transfer links.

Fans, however, will want more than promises. They will want concrete evidence of change, including the arrival of top-quality signings capable of raising standards across the squad.
