Tottenham transfer balance sheet reveals De Zerbi has only spent £53m this summer

Let’s take a look at exactly how much Tottenham have spent on new signings and how much they have made from player sales so far this summer transfer window.

So far this summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been focused on reshaping their squad under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

That, of course, is not surprising given Spurs’ struggles in the Premier League last season, where they were involved in a full-on relegation scrap which saw them come so close to losing their top-flight status.

It took the appointment of the former Brighton manager for Spurs to turn their league fortunes around, and now focus has turned to backing De Zerbi in what looks like another new era at Tottenham.

Spurs have certainly backed De Zerbi this summer after having signed six players to bolster their defence and midfield.

However, of the six new signings, only three came at a cost, with Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke costing Tottenham a total of £237 million.

Meanwhile, the likes of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka all joined on free transfers after running down their contracts at their previous clubs.

Tottenham’s expenditure so far this transfer window ranks second in the club’s all-time chart for the most money spent in a season.

Of course, this figure could still rise, as Spurs remain in the market for forward options. Savinho stands as their number one target and could cost Tottenham upwards of £70 million.

So far, though, this is Spurs’ total spend in the summer of 2026.

Spurs’ sales and net spend analysed

Sales have also been a big part of Tottenham’s transfer dealings this summer transfer window. In fact, the Lilywhites have completed a remarkable nine sales already.

The likes of Luka Vuskovic, Will Lankshear, Radu Dragusin, Alejo Veliz, Alfie Devine, Tynan Thompson, Manor Solomon, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence all stand as Spurs’ departures this transfer window.

The departure of these players has fetched Tottenham a whopping £184.2 million.

That figure could rise further to £204.2 million should Ashley Phillips’ £20 million deal go through.

Middlesbrough were closing in on a deal for the 21-year-old defender, but the transfer has since stalled due to a problem with the centre-back’s medicals.

However, in terms of net spend this summer, Tottenham currently sit at £52.8 million.
