Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a raid on relegated Wolves this summer, and Rodrigo Gomes has now made a very interesting admission about his future.
Having secured their place in the Premier League next season, Spurs are expected to invest substantially in rebuilding their squad this summer.
If reports are to be believed, Tottenham are already on the verge of announcing two deals: the free signings of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
The Lilywhites have now allegedly turned their attention to another player, who has shown impressive consistency in the Premier League over the last 12 months.
Rodrigo Gomes speaks on his future amid Tottenham’s interest
According to a report in O Jogo (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham are eyeing a move for Rodrigo Gomes after Wolves dropped back down to the Championship.
The Lilywhites have been impressed by the displays of the versatile wide man, who scored five goals in just over 1,100 minutes across all competitions in the season just past.
It is revealed that the 22-year-old is also attracting interest from multiple Portuguese sides ahead of next season.
However, it is explained that despite their relegation, Wolves are still expected to try and ‘hold a firm line’, and may not let Gomes leave on the cheap.
Gomes has not committed his future to Wolves
The former Braga man was asked about the speculation over his future, and he failed to give guarantees about staying at the Molineux Stadium.
According to O Jogo, Gomes said about his future: “I still haven’t spoken to my agent. If I stay, I promise to give everything to help Wolves return to the Premier League.”
Meanwhile, it has emerged over recent weeks that Spurs are also eyeing raiding West Ham for two of their players following the Hammers’ relegation from the top-flight.
