Tottenham Hotspur could be one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League in the final 12 days of the transfer window as they look to make significant reinforcements to their forward line.

Roberto De Zerbi is extremely keen on bringing Savinho and Cody Gakpo to Spurs, but those are not the only two players that the Lilywhites are pursuing.

Some centre-forwards are also being linked with a late move to Tottenham, and some reliable sources have confirmed that signing a new striker is on the club’s agenda.

This includes Fabrizio Romano, who has asserted that Spurs want to add a number nine to their squad in addition to Gakpo and Savinho, as they eye a late transfer blitz.

Tottenham eyeing Omar Marmoush in addition to Savinho and Cody Gakpo

Sky Sports have now backed up Romano’s claim on their live transfer blog, revealing that the North Londoners are hoping to sign three new forwards before the September 1 deadline.

The report says an ideal end to the window for De Zerbi’s men is viewed as landing a centre-forward in addition to the Liverpool and Man City wingers.

The update also dismisses speculation suggesting that the Tottenham boss views Gakpo as his number nine, adding that Spurs’ primary plan is to add ‘an out-and-out goalscoring centre-forward’ alongside Gakpo.

One of the strikers on Tottenham’s wishlist is Omar Marmoush, but it is revealed that Man City would have to replace the Egyptian before letting him go.

What is holding up the Savinho and Cody Gakpo deals?

Sky Sports backs up what other sources have reported over the last week, stating that while Savinho wants to move to Spurs, City want to sign another winger before greenlighting his move to N17.

The Brazilian’s future has been on the back burner at City over the last few days as the sales of Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders have ‘dominated proceedings’ at the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are waiting for Liverpool to sign PSG pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye before they launch an offer for Gakpo.

If the Lilywhites are unable to secure the Dutchman, it is suggested that they could turn their attention to other alternatives, including Chelsea’s Pedro Neto.
