Folarin Balogun has now made his feelings clear after Tottenham Hotspur reached out to him regarding a return to London.

Reports first emerged last week that Balogun had been offered to Spurs, and the transfer has gathered steam over the last few days.

On Tuesday, L’Equipe reported that Tottenham had opened talks with Monaco over a deal for the former Arsenal man, adding that the Lilywhites are now showing ‘intense interest’ in his services.

The French outlet suggested that the Premier League side were laying the groundwork for a late €60m (£51m) agreement for the centre-forward, who scored 19 goals across all competitions last season.

Folarin Balogun has given the green light to join Tottenham

Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna has now revealed that the 25-year-old striker is willing to make a move to N17, having given his approval for the deal.

He added that Balogun is now a ‘priority’ signing for Tottenham, with the Lilywhites making progress in their discussions towards completing a deal.

Aouna wrote on X: “Folarin Balogun has given his green light to join Tottenham as revealed on Foot Mercato. The Monaco striker is the Spurs’ priority. No official offer yet, but discussions are progressing between the various parties.”

Fabrizio Romano contradicts claims about Spurs’ move for Balogun

While French outlets like L’Equipe and Foot Mercato seem convinced of Tottenham’s keenness on landing the Monaco man, Fabrizio Romano disagrees.

Contradicting the recent reports on the transfer, Romano claimed on Wednesday Spurs’ interest in Balogun is not concrete or advanced at this stage.

The journalist added that several clubs, including Saudi sides as well as Turkish side Galatasaray, are keeping tabs on the Arsenal academy graduate’s situation.
