Two summer Tottenham signings are due to arrive at the Hotspur Way training ground to begin work over the next 24 hours.

Jan Paul van Hecke was Tottenham Hotspur‘s first major arrival of this summer transfer window, with Spurs signing him for £52 million from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The deal was completed while the Dutchman was away with the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Van Hecke was stellar at the tournament, putting in some impressive displays despite the Netherlands’ disappointing exit in the last 32.

The new Tottenham centre-back was even among the best-rated players in the entire competition, making the top 40 list.

Jan Paul van Hecke set for first day at Tottenham

It has now been revealed that the Dutchman is set to make his first appearance at Hotspur Way today (Tuesday 21st) since completing his move to Spurs, according to Dutch reporter Joost Blaauwhof.

It turns out, Van Hecke is not the only one, either. Tottenham posted on social media this afternoon that Andy Robertson has reported for duty to start gearing up for the 2026/27 campaign.

The journalist tweeted: “Jan Paul van Hecke is reporting to Tottenham Hotspur today. First day of work, after his transfer (60 million euros) from Brighton & Hove Albion. The defender was one of the absolute highlights of the Netherlands national team’s World Cup. In London, he’ll reunite with Micky van de Ven.”

Players are supposed to get three weeks off each summer post any international tournament. Because the World Cup ran on for so long, both Robertson’s Scotland and Van Hecke’s Netherlands were actually knocked out of the tournament approximately three weeks ago.

Spurs continue pre-season preparations

Spurs have several players who have already been in pre-season training for over a week or two, including new signings Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

Earlier this month, as many as 23 players were spotted at Hotspur Way as pre-season preparations began.

Those numbers will only increase as the weeks go by and more of the World Cup stars return to training.

Tottenham, however, are now preparing for their first pre-season game against MK Dons on Wednesday, 22 July.
