Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £52m deal to land their third summer transfer target, following the arrivals of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
Despite the summer transfer window only opening on June 15, Spurs have raced into action. It appears the Lewis Family are following through on their ‘all in’ promise to Tottenham fans.
Andy Robertson was the first through the door for Tottenham this summer, joining on a free transfer from Liverpool. Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi became Roberto De Zerbi’s second summer arrival just days later, also without costing a single penny.
While Tottenham have been linked with a vast array of other targets, including midfielders, strikers, wingers, and goalkeepers, it always felt like a centre-back would be the next through the door. And that is exactly what has happened.

Tottenham agree deal to sign Jan Paul van Hecke
David Ornstein broke the news on Tuesday evening that Tottenham have agreed a deal with Brighton to sign Netherlands defender, Jan Paul van Hecke. The centre-back, who is currently away at the World Cup, is about to enter the final year of his contract on the South Coast.
Spurs have agreed a fixed fee of £52m with the Seagulls, with no further add-ons. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue. In fact, some sources claim Spurs have already agreed terms with Van Hecke.
Fabrizio Romano has also given the transfer his ‘here we go’ seal of approval, and we now await official confirmation from Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton.
He tweeted: ‘Tottenham agree deal to sign Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, here we go! New defender wanted by De Zerbi joining on £52m deal, agreement club to club done after player accepted THFC conditions last week.’
Luka Vuskovic deal remains separate from Van Hecke
Ornstein also points out that any potential Luka Vuskovic sale remains separate from the Van Hecke deal. This comes after Brighton had a £30m bid rejected by Tottenham earlier this week.
The Seagulls have since returned with a second £35m offer, which has also been sent back. Brighton are said to be preparing a third offer to tempt Spurs into parting with Vuskovic this summer.
While Tottenham do not want to cash in on Vuskovic after his stellar season out on loan with Hamburg, sources say that any potential sale would fall closer to £60m.
