Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in a 21-year-old Spanish centre-back, who is on the radar of a couple of big European clubs.
Spurs have bolstered their ranks at centre-back with the additions of Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, while they have cashed in on Radu Dragusin and teenage prodigy Luka Vuskovic.
Reports continue to suggest that Cristian Romero is likely to head out the door at Tottenham this summer, with Fabrizio Romano recently indicating that interest in the Spurs captain is heating up in light of his World Cup performances.
It has now emerged that Roberto De Zerbi’s side may be plotting to replace the experienced Argentine with a highly-rated emerging talent.

Tottenham named as ones to watch in race for Sergi Dominguez
It was first reported last month that Spurs are eyeing a move for Dinamo Zagreb centre-back Sergi Dominguez, and a new source has now backed that up.
According to the print edition of Corriere della Sera (as relayed by Sport Witness), Lazio are now keen on securing the 21-year-old defensive prospect.
The Serie A club have appointed Gennaro Gattuso as their new head coach and are ready to back him by signing Dominguez.
Lazio’s negotiations with Dinamo for the centre-back are currently ‘ongoing’, but the outlet states that the Italian club have to ‘watch out for Tottenham’ in the race for the young defender.
Lazio struggling to meet Dominguez asking price
Corriere della Sera explain that Lazio are currently operating on a ‘zero-balance budget’, and have limited funds available to strenthen their squad.
They are finding it difficult to meet Dinamo’s €15m (£12.7m) asking price, and have not gone beyond offering €10m (£8.5m) plus €2m (£1.7m) in bonuses.
It is suggested that there is a threat of Spurs offering the Croatian club more favourable terms and hijacking the deal for Dominguez. It was previously reported that the Tottenham defensive target is also on Barca’s radar.
